About the Program
Future Well Kids is a fun, hands-on way for students ages 10-13 to learn how to increase their likelihood of living a fuller, healthier life without diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
Abbott and its foundation, the Abbott Fund, aim to help people live fuller, healthier lives, which is the goal of Future Well Kids. By partnering with schools and community organizations, we’re teaching children that healthy habits can last a lifetime. The program's designed to empower students, support teachers, and engage Abbott employees, who will be delivering curriculum that encourages physical fitness and proper nutrition.
Abbott Fund was established by Abbott in 1951 as a philanthropic foundation. We invest in innovative ideas that expand access to health care, strengthen communities where we live and operate, and promote science and medical education. In partnership with others, we strive to make a lasting impact on people’s lives and encourage others to take positive action.
Discovery Education is the global leader in standards-based digital content for K-12, transforming teaching and learning with award-winning digital textbooks, multimedia content, professional development, and the largest professional learning community of its kind. Serving 4.5 million educators and over 50 million students, Discovery Education’s services are in half of U.S. classrooms, 50 percent of all primary schools in the U.K., and more than 50 countries.
Future Well Kids provides fun, flexible, and adaptable project-based learning materials for your students that encourage healthy behaviors linked to the reduction of noncommunicable diseases. Your kids will learn about proper nutrition and regular physical fitness and why they’re so important to their health.
Future Well Kids provides Abbott colleagues with the skills and tools needed to become a volunteer and the opportunity to positively impact children in their communities.
